1)  Norris Lake is 129 miles long, 73 miles up the Clinch River and 56 miles up the Powell River.  880 miles of shoreline including 50 miles of island shoreline.  With capacity at 34,200 acres, the lake collects rainfall runoff from a 2192 square mile watershed. 

 

2) Norris Lake is located between the Cumberland Mountains and the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, and was the first reservoir created by the Tennessee Valley Authority.  Construction began in October of 1933 and the reservoir was completely filled in January of 1937.  Located in the Tennessee counties of Anderson, Campbell, Claiborne, Grainger and Union, Norris Lake has the largest flood control storage capacity of any lake on a tributary of the Tennessee River.

 

3) Approximately 80% to 85% of Norris Lake's shoreline is owned by the Tennessee Valley Authority and Wildlife Management areas.  Leaving aproximately 20% to be available for private development.  Which makes owning property on Norris Lake a rare, unique and valuable opportunity.
